- An additional pet deposit up to 1 month's rent is allowed for a non-service animal, accounted for separately and applicable only to pet-related damages (§ 34.03.070(h)).
- The $2,000 threshold is a flat statutory figure (not indexed). Verified unamended through the 2023–2026 sessions: SB 169 (33rd Leg.), the only cap bill, was withdrawn 2024-01-26.
